Hand-Woven Rugs

Silver Thread Weaving Silver thread rugs are handmade in Lake City, CO by Christian and Amanda Hartman. Christian grew up in Lake City and moved back with his wife, Amanda, in 2004. Their first child, Silas, was born in November of 2005 and is a big fan of the rugs! He’s currently working on his fine motor skills in hopes of weaving soon.

Our Rugs Our rugs are comprised of mostly recycled materials. The “fuzzy” rugs are made from a material called selvedge, which is an upholstery byproduct. These colorful rugs add accent and warmth to any floor, or can even be used as a lap blanket. The “bumpy” rugs are made from “loopers”, which are a byproduct of socks. The bumpy texture of these rugs is therapy for the feet…great for the bathroom, bedside, or any room! We use these rugs in our own bathrooms because they are absorbent and attractive. We’ve used good old-fashioned rags (leftover sheets and fabric) to make our rag rugs. These time-tested, classic rugs are colorful and durable.

Our Studio We have a home studio in the historic Moon House, built in 1874, which is located on the corner of 2nd and Bluff Streets, just a block south of San Juan Soda. 944-0220.
